Is That Enough

(performed by Andi Morici)
written by Andi Morici & Tom Sparks
Saw the pictures on the evening news, people drowning in despair,
As water washed all their lives away, no devastation could compare.
So I wrote the check and I licked the stamp, and as the letter fell from my hand
I wondered, is that enough?

Is that enough when a new born baby’s dying,
Is that enough when a land has lost hope?
Every night that I lie awake crying,
Is it enough to help the grieving cope?
It’s all I know; but is that enough?

I’m afraid for those so far from home, fighting in another land.
Watching young dreams fade away can be hard to understand,
So I bow my head and say a prayer, and as my words hang in the air
I wonder, is that enough?

Is that enough when a new born baby’s dying?
Is that enough when a land has lost hope?
Every night that I lie awake crying,
Is it enough to help the grieving cope?
It’s all I know; but is that enough?

What should we do when we want to make a difference?
What should we do when we feel our hands are tied?
Is this the way that we learn to love each other,
Or is this the way we just watch each other die?

Is that enough when there’s little children dying?
Is that enough when a heart has lost all hope?
Every night that I lie awake crying,
Is it enough to help the grieving cope?

And is that enough when a new born baby’s dying,
Is that enough when a land has lost its hope?
Every night that I lie awake crying,
Is it enough to help the grieving cope?
Is that enough?
